1. Our Commitment
Laenethy Writers, operated by Harbinger Bros. LLC, is committed to making our website accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about writing and publishing should not be limited by disability, and we are committed to ongoing improvement of the accessibility of laenethy.com.
2. Conformance Status
We aim for laenethy.com to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 defines requirements for improving the accessibility of web content for people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Our current conformance status is: Partially conformant — some content does not yet meet all requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are actively working to address known issues.
3. Technical Specifications
Laenethy Writers relies on the following technologies to work correctly with assistive technologies:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript (React / Next.js)
- WAI-ARIA (where implemented)
4. Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them:
- Images: Some older article images may lack adequate alt text descriptions. We are reviewing and updating these on an ongoing basis.
- Colour contrast: Some decorative text elements may not meet the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for normal text under WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3.
- Keyboard navigation: Most functionality is accessible by keyboard; however, some interactive elements (such as the image search interface in our administrative tools) may not be fully keyboard-navigable.
- Third-party content: We embed some content from third-party services that may not fully meet accessibility standards. We cannot control the accessibility of third-party content.
5. Compatibility
Laenethy Writers is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and browser combinations:
- JAWS and NVDA screen readers with Internet Explorer 11 and Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
Older browser versions may not support all features used on this Website.
6. Text and Reading
We have taken the following steps to support readability:
- Body text is set at a minimum of 15px with generous line-height to support readability;
- We use established serif typefaces (Baskerville, Lora) that are widely recognised as readable for long-form text;
- Article pages have a maximum width of 860px to limit line length and reduce eye strain;
- Colour contrast between body text and background meets or exceeds the WCAG AA requirement for normal text;
- All navigational elements are accessible via keyboard tab order.
7. How to Adjust Text Size
Since July 2026, this Website also provides an interactive accessibility toolbar: a floating icon in the bottom-left corner of every page opens a panel where you can adjust text size in four steps, switch to a high-contrast display mode, underline all links, reduce animations and motion, and increase line and letter spacing for easier reading. Your selections are stored only in your own browser (never on our servers) and are applied automatically on return visits; a "Reset" button restores the defaults at any time. Alternatively, your browser's own zoom controls (below) work as well.
All modern browsers allow you to increase or decrease the text size of websites independently of the Website's own styles:
- Windows: Ctrl + (zoom in), Ctrl – (zoom out), Ctrl 0 (reset)
- Mac: Cmd + (zoom in), Cmd – (zoom out), Cmd 0 (reset)
- Mobile: Use your device's pinch-to-zoom gesture
Our Website is designed to reflow correctly at browser zoom levels up to 200%.

We take all accessibility feedback seriously and aim to respond within 5 business days. We are committed to providing a prompt and helpful response and, where the reported issue is within our control, to addressing it as quickly as reasonably possible.
9. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you may contact the relevant national enforcement body for accessibility regulations in your country. In the European Union, each Member State has designated an enforcement body responsible for monitoring compliance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies. While Laenethy Writers is a private sector website and not directly subject to this Directive, we voluntarily align with its principles.
10. Ongoing Work
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time task. We review the accessibility of our Website periodically and following major updates to our design or codebase. We are working towards a future audit against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and, in due course, WCAG 2.2.
